A Brooks Township Road Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Brooks, which is in Newaygo County.

This measure sought to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for road maintenance and improvement costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the total tax rate limitation on the amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed on taxable property within Brooks Township under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased by 1.0 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) annually for five (5) years, 2012 through 2016, inclusive, to provide funds for the improvement and maintenance of public roads within the Township, and shall Brooks Township be authorized to levy such new additional millage for said purpose, raising an estimated $123,070 in the first year of the levy?[3]
