This measure seeks to allow the city to grant up to 100 percent property tax exemptions to new or expanding businesses in the county. The tax exemption, if granted, would be for a period of ten years.[2] This would be a renewal measure, the first tax abatement measure was approved by residents in 2000 and expired in April of 2010. Essentially there is no difference between this new tax exemption measure and the new one, the city council will decide how big an exemption each business applying, would get.[3]
