Bruce Bryant was a Democratic member of the Maine State Senate. He was a 2012 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 2nd Congressional District of Maine. Bryant has served in the Maine Senate since 2002. Bryant was re-elected in November of 2006 with his term expiring in 2010. Bryant also served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002.
Bryant expressed an intention to run for the 2nd Congressional District of Maine, but failed to file before the filing deadline of March 15, 2012. [1]

Bryant was not eligible to seek re-election to the 14th District Seat in 2010, due to Maine's term limits. John Patrick ran for the seat on the Democratic ticket. H. Sawin Millett, Jr. ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
