There was a Burlington Veterans Property Tax Exemption Increase measure on the March 2 ballot in Chittenden County for voters in the city of Burlington.

This measure was approved in Washington County[1]

This measure was petitioned for by veterans in the city and is on many local ballots within the state. The state allows property tax exemptions, up to $40,000, for veterans but local governments are allowed to set their specific limit. Veterans in Burlington want the tax exemption to be raise to the maximum, which is the $40,000. Tax rates would increase for other citizens of the city due to higher money exempted from veterans.[2]
