California's 35th congressional district is located in the southern portion of the state and includes part of San Bernardino County.[1]
California's 35th congressional district was previously based in Los Angeles County. The district was composed of parts of the Westchester District of the City of Los Angeles and the neighborhoods of Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena and Florence-Graham, as well as some adjacent areas. [2]
The current representative of the 35th congressional district is Gloria Negrete McLeod (D).

On November 7, 2006, Maxine Waters won re-election to the United States House. She defeated Gordon Michael Mego (American Independent) and Paul Ireland (L) in the general election.[6]
