A California Article V Convention Initiative (11-0003) was cleared for circulation for California's 2012 ballot as an initiated state statute. However, sponsors of 11-0003 did not submit the required signatures by the September 26, 2011 deadline and therefore, #10-0021 will not be on the ballot.

A letter requesting a title and summary for the proposed initiative was signed by Christopher A. Brown, and was received by the Attorney General of California's office on March 10, 2011.

Federal Constitutional Convention. Initiative Statute.

Official summary:

"Finds California environmental and other public benefit laws have been effectively nullified by the federal government. Directs the California Legislature to request that Congress call a federal constitutional convention to propose amendments to the United States Constitution. Requires California's delegate to the convention to be determined by general election after televised public debate."
