California Proposition 50, Tax Assessments for Post-Disaster Renovations (1986)
Proposition 50 amended the California Constitution so that persons who suffer a property loss due to a disaster, as declared by the Governor of California, can maintain their original tax base if they remain and rebuild on the same site or if they relocate to a site to purchase.
