California Secretary of State approves Schwarzenegger recall petition

SACRAMENTO, California: California Secretary of State Debra Bowen has approved a recall petition for Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger. The recall petition, sponsored by "Taxpayers United to Recall Governor Schwarzenegger", was filed by John D. Fusek of La Habra, who stated that the governor "must be held accountable for worsening the lives of California taxpayers, voters and families.”

More than one million valid signatures must be gathered by October 22, 2009 for the measure to qualify for the ballot.[1]
