California Voter Foundation
CVF was founded in 1989 by then-California Secretary of State March Fong Eu, and then re-founded in 1994 by Kim Alexander.
Since 1994, CVF has produced its "California Online Voter Guide" with information about statewide election contests, including those for California ballot propositions.
The foundations that support that work of CVF are affiliated with the progressive/center-left side of the political spectrum. They include:
- The Quixote Foundation.
- Pew Charitable Trusts
- Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation
- James Irvine Foundation
- William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
- Rockefeller Family Foundation
Thoughts on initiative process
