He was the Mayor of the city of Ball Ground from 1992-1996. Hill ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.
Hill is a businessman. He has worked as Director of Cherokee Bank, owner of a resort hotel in Belize, and served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is a member of Anna Crawford Children's Center Board, and the Reinhardt College Board.[1]
Mystery illness
For a number of years, Hill has suffered from a mystery illness which has been referred to as "polyangiitis overlap syndrome." The illness, in which something in the body is killing his platelets, got Hill featured on the Discovery Channel's show "Mystery Diagnosis." He gets symptoms on and off, the most recent coming in February 2010, when he spent 2 weeks in the hospital.[2]
