Campaign finance requirements for West Virginia ballot measures

There are no campaign finance requirements for West Virginia ballot measures. The State of West Virginia is the only state in the nation that does not require campaigns involved in the support or opposition of ballot measures to register with a state agency. The West Virginia Secretary of State promulgates all campaign finance requirements for candidates, candidate committees, state and local party organizations, along with political action committees in support or opposition towards of a candidate[1].
