Cloutier ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Delaware State Senate District 5. Cloutier ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 11, 2012 and defeated Christopher R. Counihan in the general election on November 6, 2012. [2][3]

Cloutier won re-election to the District 5 seat in 2010. She was uncontested in the September 14 primary and defeated Christopher Counihan (D) in the November 2 general election.[4]
