Connolly is a member of the David Bohnett Leadership Fellows Class of 2009. This program is "a partnership between the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute and the David Bohnett Foundation to send some of the country’s best and brightest LGBT elected and appointed officials and community leaders to the Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government program, one of the nation’s most prestigious executive training programs for public officials."[8]
