A Center Grove School District Property Tax Addition measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the school district of Center Grove which is in Johnson County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 43%
  • NO 57% Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to allow the addition of $.15 per $100 of assessed property value to local property taxes that are already being collected in the district. This tax addition would have been in place for seven years if it had been approved. This measure was supposed to be on a June special election ballot, but recent Indiana legislation has pushed the date to the regular November election date. School officials were worried about this move because it meant they will have to decide on a budget before they are sure they will have the additional funds they will need. The school district has already cut back on its budget by closing one elementary school in the area and looking for further cuts.[2]
