This measure sought to allow township officials to buy electricity in bulk in order to obtain lower rates for residents who want to participate in the program.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall Center Township have the authority to aggregate the retail electric loads located in Center Township, and for that purpose, enter into service agreements to facilitate for those loads the sale and purchase of electricity, such aggregation to occur automatically except where any person elects to opt out?[3]
