Issues
Campaign themes
2012
Inman's campaign website listed the following issues:[1]
- Economy
- Excerpt: "Cut corporate taxes and streamline rules to make us the most attractive place to start a business. We’ve got office space for IT and Web start-ups. Business brings jobs, revenue, consumer spending – economic growth. Natural resources can become an energy export."
- Education
- Excerpt: "Find low-cost resources to help teachers improve student performance. Bring teachers, parents, and students together from our District, finding talent from recent college graduates and advanced high school students to help younger students."
- Spending
- Excerpt: "Idaho is cash-strapped. For education, we’re relying too much on the federal government. What if they stop sending money? For the economy, we’re adding rules that cost companies money, hurting their expansion and preventing start-ups. I will do more with less, making us more self-sufficient."
- Ethics
- Excerpt: "I promise not to favor any one group over another. All will get a fair hearing on their concerns. But at the end of the day, I plan to represent all of District 17, not just some of the groups"
Elections
2012
Inman ran in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives District 17B. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 15 and was defeated by incumbent Sue Chew (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012. Mikel Hautzinger ran as a Libertarian. [2][3]
