Challenged voters in Georgia may cast ballots on election day
From Ballotpedia
10/28/2008
Federal judges ruled on Monday that voters whose eligibility is questioned must be allowed to cast a "challenged" ballot on election day. The panel of federal judges also ruled that Secretary of State Karen Handel must immediately inform anyone who has been flagged due to Georgia's new system of checking Social Security and motor vehicle records for consistency. Currently 50,378 voters have been flagged. [1]
Furthermore, the court ruled that until a voter admits in writing to be ineligible to vote, he or she may not be removed from the voter rolls. [1]
