A Chardon Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the township of Chardon which is in Geauga County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a rate of $.25 per $100 of assessed property value for a further three years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services, maintenance costs and salaries in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Chardon Township for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, or sites therefore, or sources of water supply and materials therefore, or the establishment and maintenance of lines of fire alarm telegraph, or the payment of firefighting companies or permanent, part-time, or volunteer firefighting, emergency medical service, administrative, or communications personnel to operate the same, including the payment of any employer contributions required for such personnel under section 145.48 or 742.34 of the Revised Code, or the purchase of ambulance equipment, or the provision of ambulance, paramedic, or other emergency medical services operated by a fire department or firefighting company at a rate not exceeding 2.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 25 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for three years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
