Van Zant won re-election to the 21st District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the August 24 primary or in the general election, which took place on November 2, 2010.[4]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Van Zant won election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 21st District, defeating Linda Meyers (D). Van Zant received 32,279 votes in the election while Myers received 30,396 votes.[5] Van Zant raised $266,911 for his campaign; Myers raised $193,967.[6]
