On November 4, 2008, Quintanilla won re-election to the Texas House of Representatives from Texas's 75th District, defeating Carlos Garza (R). Quintanilla received 26,806 votes in the election while Garza received 10,758 votes.[4] Quintanilla raised $105,345 for his campaign; Garza raised $2,940.[5]
