Edwards was the marketing representative for the Trammell Crow Company from 1981-1985, worked as a legislative assistant for the Texas Congressman Olin Tiger Teague from 1974-1977, and serves as the president of Edwards Communications Incorporated.[1]

According to a July 2010 analysis of 1,357 votes cast from January 1, 2009 to June 16, 2010, Edwards has voted with the House Democratic leadership 96.1% of the time.[2] That same analysis reported that he also voted with party leadership 93.4% of the time in 2010.
Washington Post Analysis
A separate analysis from The Washington Post, concluded that he votes 96.2% of the time with a majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives.[3]
