A Chimacum School District Operations Levy Renewal measure was on the February 8, 2011 ballot in the Chimacum school district area, which is in Jefferson County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 2,862 (60.34%)Approveda
  • NO 1,881 (39.66%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current operations and maintenance levy which will be set at a rate of $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further three years in order to maintain school services.[2] School officials had not made plans if this would have been defeated, they believed residents would continue to support them even now when the money is so important to the school's budget. Though state funding had decreased, no programs have been singled out as to be cut if this measure had not been approved.[3] School officials expected around $2.25 million to be generated from this levy which will be implemented in 2012 once the current levy expires at the end of 2011.[4]
