Biography
Koch has worked for the Illinois State Board of Education since 1994. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent of Education in 2006, Koch served in a variety of positions, including Director of Special Education.[1]
Koch is a member of the Council of Chief State School Officers, serving as President from 2010-2011, as well as the Commission on Standards and Performance Reporting. [1]
Koch has taught special education in four states and also worked at the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Vocational and Adult Education.[1]
