Christopher Rector is a former Republican member of the Maine State Senate, representing District 22 from 2008 to 2012. Rector also served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to being a Senator, Rector is a small business owner. He and his wife are entrepreneurs, involved in retail business, wholesale art publishing and real estate management. He and his wife Betsy operated two retail art galleries in Camden and Portland for 20 years.

Rector graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Maine-Portland in 1975. Rector also attended the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2006 on a Brooks Fellowship.

Rector ran for re-election in 2012. He ran unopposed in the June 12, 2012 Republican primary and was defeated by Edward Mazurek (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]

Rector won re-election to the 22nd District seat in the November 2nd general election.[3] He had no primary opposition. Adrian Humphreys (D) withdrew from the race, leaving Rector unopposed. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]
