Espy earned his BA from Southern University at Baton Rouge. He is the owner of the Century Funeral Home and Burial Association and the Espy Cemetery Corporation.
Espy is founder of the Chuck Espy Foundation, Chairman of the Foundation for Education and Economic Development, and a member of the Haven United Methodist Church, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, President's Council on Race Relations, and the Prince Hall Masons.[1]
