City & Village Electrical Aggregation Questions, 10 (March 2012)

Ten City & Village Electrical Aggregation Questions were on the March 20, 2012 ballot in the designated areas which are in Kendall County.

Five of the measures were approved[1]

These measures sought to allow authorities to aggregate electricity in order to buy it in bulk for residents who want to participate in the program and allow for lower rates for those involved. The communities with this measure on their ballot included the villages of Newark and Oswego as well as the cities of Plano and Yorkville.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Village of Newark have the authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for its residential and small commercial retail customers who have not opted out of such program?[3]
