City & Village Electrical Aggregation Questions, 15 (March 2012)

Fifteen City & Village Electrical Aggregation Questions were on the March 20, 2012 ballot in the fifteen designated areas which are in McHenry County.

None of the measures were approved.[1]

These measures asked the same question, if residents in the specified area would like to allow officials to aggregate electricity in order to buy it in bulk and allow for lower rates for residents. The areas included the villages of Algonquin, Cary, Huntly (also in Kane County), Island Lake (also in Lake County), Johnsburg, Ringwood, Spring Grove, Lakewood, Wonder Lake, McCullom Lake and Prairie Grove as well as the cities of Crystal Lake, Marengo, Woodstock and McHenry.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Village of Wonder Lake have the authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for its residential and small commercial retail customers who have not opted out of such program?
