McNary earned his Teaching Certificate in Physics from the University of Missouri Saint Louis, MBA from Saint Louis University, and BS in Aviation Management from Auburn University.
He is a member of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and United Methodist Church of Green Trails.[1]

No New Taxes Pledge
In Missouri for 2011, a minority of lawmakers signed the "No New Taxes Pledge." Only four out of 34 state Senate members signed the pledge. Out of 163 state House members, only 35 lawmakers have signed.

McNary ran for Missouri Treasurer in 2012.[4] He was unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary. Incumbent Clint Zweifel (D) and Sean O'Toole (L) were also unopposed for their respective parties.[5] McNary was defeated by incumbent Clint Zweifel in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6]
