Biography
Beavan is the founder and executive director of the No Impact Project, an non-profit that helps people help their communities and their planet. He is on the board of directors of New York City's Transportation Alternatives. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool.[2]

Beavan ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing New York's 8th District. He sought the nomination on the Green Party ticket. He was unopposed in the June 26th, 2012 primary[4] and will face Hakeem Jeffries (D) and Alan Bellone (R) in the November 6, 2012, general election. He was defeated by Hakeem Jeffries on November 6, 2012.[5]
