A College Corner Police Levy Increase measure was in the November 2, 2010 ballot in the village of College Corner which is in both Butler and Preble Counties.

This measure was approved

  • YES 76 52.8(%) Approveda
  • NO 68 47.2(%)[1][2]

This measure sought to implement a 7 mill levy increase in the village for a further five years in order to pay for a sheriff which would have powers to arrest in both counties and across the Indiana border. Legal issues stop normal police officers in the village to patrol both sides of the county line and across the border. A sheriff which had the powers was installed in the village but reduced funds and loss of taxes led to the officer being lost. Village officials hoped this would be approved so full police service coverage would be given to the village again.[3]
