A Civil Service Commission ballot proposition (Issue 3) was on the November 6, 1956 ballot in Colorado as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.
  • Yes: 156,077 (31.8%)
  • No: 334,498 (68.2%) Defeatedd

Issue 3's ballot title was, "Providing for the employment and tenure in the state classified civil service on the basis of merit and for the administration of the state civil service by a civil service commission."
