A Colorado Supreme Court Term Limit Measure did not make the November 6, 2012 ballot in Colorado. The measure proposed limiting the term limit for Colorado Supreme Court justices from 10 years to two years.[1] Additionally, the chief justice would serve in that role for only two years at a time.[2]
Support
The measure was proposed by Peter Coulter, a Vail, Colorado resident. Coulter argues that it is time to "reign in the power" of the Supreme Court.[2]
