The Congress of California Seniors (CCS) is a non-profit advocacy organization registered as a 501(c)(4) California corporation. The CCS "is funded through membership dues, contributions from affiliated organizations, individual donations and corporations."[1] The CCS focuses on legislature and consumer issues that affects older adults. The CCS education and advocacy program has been used as a tool to influence state legislation and state officials. "CCS analyzes and rates all state legislators on their voting record related to key senior issues and publishes the "Friends and Foes of Seniors Legislative Report Card."[1] As an umbrella representing over 100 affiliated groups, CCS represents several thousand members across California. [1]
