Two Cottage Grove City Water Rate Questions were on the March 13, 2012 ballot in the city of Cottage Grove which is in Lane County.

Both measures were defeated

The first measure sought to make it that water rates in the city would only cost the amount which is needed to maintain the system.[1]

The second measure sought to set one water rate for everyone in the city based only on their consumption of water.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Measure 20-189: Shall water rates be set to cover only the maintenance of the water system in place of February 14, 2011?

Measures 20-190: Shall Cottage Grove set one water rate for all customers based solely on consumption using the current residential volume chart?[4]
