There was a County Sales Tax Increase proposition on the October 13 ballot in Sequoyah County.
This measure passed
- YES 3,352 (69%)

- NO 1,500 (31%)[1]
This proposition sought to raise the sales tax by half a cent in order to raise funds to continue to run and maintain the county jail.[2]
