There was a proposal for the Creation of SE Alaskan Solid Waste Authority on the October 6, 2009 ballot ballot in Petersburg, Alaska, where it was approved.
This proposition authorized the creation of a waste management authority within that region to deal with waste issues.
Election results
A neighboring city, Wrangell, also needed to approve this measure and it passed with a vote of:
301(80.27%) in favor
74(19.73) against.[1]
