There was a proposal for the Creation of SE Alaskan Solid Waste Authority on the October 6, 2009 ballot ballot in Petersburg.
This proposition sought to create a waste management authority within that region to deal with waste issues.
Official results:
83% in favor 17% against.
Neighbor city Wrangell also needed to approve this measure and it passed with a vote of 301 to 74.[1]
