Controversies

Disclosing campaign contribution motives

Bramble claimed to have spoken with top executives at an alarm company at a fundraiser. Bramble asked why the company, Vivint, and its top officials were supporting the campaign of now-Utah Attorney General John Swallow (R). Bramble said the officials responded that it was good for the attorney general to know the name of their company if any issues came up. Vivint has faced legal action and paid fines in other states, but has not faced fines in Utah. Both Swallow's campaign and the company's attorney deny that there was any expectation of special treatment or quid pro quo.[9]
