Biography
Lummis earned her B.A. and B.S. in Animal Science and Biology and worked on her family's ranch before becoming the youngest women to be elected to the Wyoming Legislature. After serving in the Wyoming House of Representatives, she went back to the University of Wyoming to earn her J.D. She then practiced law and eventually returned to politics.[2]

Fiscal Cliff
Lummis voted against the fiscal cliff compromise bill, which made permanent most of the Bush tax cuts originally passed in 2001 and 2003 while also raising tax rates on the highest income levels.
