Daniel Blue, Jr. is a Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 14. He was first elected to the chamber in 2008. He currently serves as Minority Leader.

Blue served in the House from 1981 to 2002 and 2006 to 2009. He was Speaker of the House from 1991 to 1994.

Biography

Blue earned his B.S. in Mathematics from North Carolina Central University in 1970. He went on to receive his J.D. from Duke University Law School in 1973. Blue was an employee at the Law Offices of Terry Sanford from 1973 to 1976. He has been partner at Thigpen, Blue, Stephens and Fellers Law Firm since 1976.
