Issues

Campaign themes

2012

On his campaign website, Davis lists nine issues. They are:[3]

  • Jobs
  • On his website, Davis says, "Currently businesses are not certain what will happen to them tomorrow. New taxes, such as health care, cap and trade or new regulations, or the government take over of industries inform the business community that change is on the way; and likely not change they would like to see. This must be corrected."
  • Energy
  • On his website, Davis says, "It is not the role of a Republican form of government to attempt a top down approach to the economy. The competition of the free market drives a capitalist economy."
  • Health care reform
  • On his website, Davis says, "Streamline FDA processes to allow drugs, technologies and treatments to become available without unnecessary bureaucratic expenses. Increase availability and use of medical savings accounts by ensuring all monies spent on or saved for medical purposes is 100% deductible expense for taxes. Removal of government control in the health care industry."
  • Taxes
  • On his website, Davis says, "Redirecting of IRS resources from regulating tax payers to an independent agency assigned to police the government’s use of tax payer’s dollars. Reduction of corporate income taxes to generate investment in the United States. Elimination of “death tax”. Reduction in capital gains taxes."
  • Size of government
  • On his website, Davis says, "Redirecting of IRS resources from regulating tax payers to an independent agency assigned to police the government’s use of tax payer’s dollars. Reduction of corporate income taxes to generate investment in the United States. Elimination of “death tax”. Reduction in capital gains taxes."
  • Cap & Trade
  • On his website, Davis says, "Any system such as Cap and Tax designed to provide control over private enterprise by the government, especially those based on the faulty, questionable science of global warming. This program will increase costs of business as well as end services and products to customers. It will drive investment off shore and lead to addition U.S. job losses. This measure would do immense and perhaps irreparable harm to our economy."
  • Global Warming
  • On his website, Davis says, "Opposed to the faulty science of climate change, global warming or global cooling or whatever manner this political movement is calling itself currently."
  • Abortion
  • On his website, Davis says, "I am opposed to abortion and support the right to life.I am vehemently opposed to the practice of partial birth abortion that I find abhorrent and grossly inhumane for a civilized people. I support right to life efforts. I believe the right to life is the first recognized right of the United States."
  • Border Security
  • On his website, Davis says, "Securing America’s borders is paramount to protecting the sovereignty of our nation and defending ourselves during our current war on terror."
  • Education
  • On his website, Davis says, "Removing the federal government from decisions regarding how our children will be taught, and what they will be taught. Return this to local school boards and the states." [3]
