Dan Severson (b. August 31, 1954) was a Republican candidate for Minnesota Secretary of State in the 2014 election.[1] Dan Severson lost the general election on November 4, 2014.

Severson was a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. He represented District 14A from 2002 to 2011. He served as Minority Whip.

Severson served in the United States Navy from 1978-2000, and has been a business owner and substitute teacher.[2]

He also made an unsuccessful bid to become the Minnesota Secretary of State in 2010. He lost in the Republican primary.
