Brenner ran for the District 61 seat in the state House in 2012. He and District 50 incumbent Trent LeDoux were defeated by incumbent Richard Carlson in the August 7 Republican primary. No candidates filed to run in the Democratic primary The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
