Cardenas ran in the 2012 election for the Wyoming House of Representatives District 33. He was defeated by Jim Allen in the Republican primary on August 21, 2012.[2][3]

2010

He was defeated by incumbent Democrat W. Patrick Goggles in the November 2, 2010 general election. Cardenas was unopposed in the August 17 primary. [4][5]
