Grant ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Georgia's 14th District. Grant sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket. [2] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012 and Grant was unopposed. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2012 to incumbent Tom Graves (R).[3]
