Danville Public Library Tax Measure C (November 2009)
The measure failed.
This measures sought to establish a tax that would help fund, along with the city general fund, the city libraries. The tax would be in place June of 2010 and does not have a year limit set.
The ballot read:
"Shall the City of Danville, Iowa, be allowed to establish a library tax levy, not to exceed the maximum amount as allowed by the Code of Iowa 384.12(21)? The money raised with this tax levy, along with General Fund money, will be used to pay the cost of providing library services to Danville residents. The tax shall become effective with the 2010-2011 fiscal year taxes (July 1, 2010), and continue until repealed"
