Darren Washington was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 3 of the Indiana State Senate. Washington was defeated by Earline Rogers in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2012.[1]

Washington is President of the Board of School Trustees, for the Gary Community School Corporation.[2] In addition, he is Chief Deputy at the Lake County Office of the Recorder in Crown Point, Indiana. In 2011 he served as an Adjunct Professor at Ivy Tech Community College.[2] Washington also currently serves as a Deputy Sheriff Chaplain for the Lake County Sheriff's Department.[2]

Washington ran in the 2012 election for Indiana State Senate District 3. He ran against incumbent Earline S. Rogers and David Vinzant in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2012, with Earline Rogers winning in the primary.[1] No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [3]
