Prior to his election to the Senate, Darwin worked as a manager at Citizens Bank and as vice-president of Bank One for a combined total of 40 years. Darwin served 28 years as Osceola Township supervisor and assessor, and was appointed by Gov. John Engler as a member of Freedom Force to Russia, sent to explore mutual opportunities between the two nations. Booher has also been a life-long farmer, and has owned and operated his small business for 28 years.
Booher graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the Michigan Assessor's School.
