Balmer was a Republican member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing the 39th District from 2005 to 2013. He served as Assistant Minority Leader.
Balmer is a Senior Manager with Cherokee Investment Partners, and a Major in the United States Army Reserve.[1]
Balmer won election to the Colorado State Senate in 2012.
