David Hayes was a Democratic candidate for District 96 of the Kentucky House of Representatives in the November 2, 2010, state legislative elections.

Hayes' opponent in the November 2 general election was Republican incumbent Jill York. According to official results, York defeated Hayes by a margin of 6,954 to 4,994.[1]

Hayes defeated Barry Webb by a margin of 2,070 to 1,891 in the May 18 Democratic primary election.
