Hoden is a Duluth native.[1]

Professionally, Hoden has 30 years of business experience in construction trades. For the past 10 years, he has owned his own business.[1]

Hoden ran in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 34B. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14 and was defeated by incumbent Kurt Zellers (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]

Hoden and his wife, Linda, have two adult children. They live in Maple Grove, Minnesota.[1]
